Why subscribe?

Such a tough question. You can subscribe. But really, I’m gonna keep writing whether you subscribe or not. I’m having too good of a time to stop.

I do a lot of other things…

My fiction, poetry, and essays have appeared in Sunlight Press, Hobart, Asteri(x), Lunch Ticket, Volume One Brooklyn, Feminine Collective, and other publications.

I’m the editor-in-chief of the literary and arts journal, Digging Through The Fat, and publisher and series editor of the Digging Press Chapbook Series and forthcoming Poetry Series. I also host the podcast, Digging Through with Gessy Alvarez.

I have an MFA from Columbia University. My work has received support from Columbia University, the Fine Arts Work Center, and the Aspen Writers’ Foundation, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and the Millay Colony for the Arts, where I was a Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Creative Fellow. In New York City, I have hosted literary events at KGB Bar and The New York Society Library.
